The Halifax casino was built on the waterfront next to Purdy's Wharf II to take advantage of Halifax's spectacular harbor, combining textural and design elements found in prominent Halifax buildings. The fifteen month construction project produced around 242 full-time jobs. The property add's to the cities's famous shoreline and attracts both area and out of town visitors alike to the downtown area.

The Sheraton Halifax Hotel has 351 guest rooms and suites with in-room coffeemakers, ironing boards and voice mail. The 32,900-sq.- ft. gaming facility has forty-four gaming tables, including an enclosed high-stakes room with six high-limit tables with $25.00 minimum bets, and 800 slot machines, including 26 high-limit machines.

Restaurants include The Library Cafe and Grill, Fife and Drum Pub with live entertainment, and Edible Express for a quick snack. Amenities include a small retail shop and a 2,200 square-foot custom designed circular bar. The six-hundred person ballroom is used for entertainment as well as sporting events. The small amphitheater with a lighthouse theme is used for smaller acts.

An extensive network of walkways between the Sheraton hotel and the casino, and a connection to the downtown pedway system was installed for the convenience of guest. The casino has a rotating ceiling resembling the sky, midway with interactive video games and a 600-car garage.

Entertainment Venues: 7,300 square-foot ballroom designed to accommodate 600 for cabaret-style entertainment and a stage equipped for world-class acts, an Amphitheater which incorporates design elements found in lighthouses ideal for duos, combos, solo acts, and a Midway featuring the latest in interactive games.
