The Fremont is located in the hub of the all-new downtown Las Vegas with its must-see attraction, the Fremont Street Experience. The first high-rise in downtown, the Fremont boasting 15 stories and 447 rooms, was only the second hotel in the world to employ a cantilevered design.
Boyd Gaming purchased the downtown landmark in 1985, along with the Stardust Hotel and Casino. Since then, more than $40 million has been spent in an ongoing renovation project, culminating in a complete Italian Marble exterior facelift.
With five restaurants, the Fremont has the largest capacity for diners in downtown Las Vegas. The Fremont offers casual fine dining in the Second Street Grill, known for its quality, subtle elegance and the unique preparation style of the Pacific Rim. Tony Roma's definitely a place for (juicy, slow cooked) ribs. The Lanai Cafe, whose motto is "Where East Meets West" offers all American daily specials and selected Chinese dishes. Touted as the "Ultimate Tropical Adventure," the Paradise Buffet seats 450 and promises the very best buffet value for the downtown dollar. Completing the list is the Lanai Express where a quick hot dog and a generous shrimp cocktail are mainstays.
Not to be outdone, the Fremont's 32,000-square-foot casino is home to 1,100 5-cent to $5.00 slot machines, $100,000 live keno, a Race and Sports Book, $3 double deck or shoe blackjack, craps with $2 minimum bets, 25-cent to $25.00 roulette, Pai Gow and Caribbean Stud Poker. All this in the warm, friendly atmosphere that made the Fremont Hotel and Casino famous.
