Boyd Gaming purchased the 17-story Main Street Station in 1993, and began using the 406 guest rooms immediately, while plans and implementation of a $60 million renovation project came to fruition. The existing casino, while still beautifully appointed with luxurious wood paneling, rich stained glass and fine crystal chandeliers underwent an extensive renovation.
Main Street Station officially opened its doors in November 1996, with the largest buffet downtown, the 540 seat, 9 action-station Garden Court Buffet. Included in the unique restaurant lineup, is the first downtown microbrewery - The Triple 7 BrewPub offering five hand - crafted brews, a menu designed to compliment the brews and nightly entertainment.
The Pullman Grille features the very finest Black Angus beef, an impressive wine list and a cigar and brandy lounge. Completing the lineup is the Garden Court Buffet with nine serving stations.
Main Street's Victorian theme spills out onto the sidewalk toward the Plaza Hotel. The covered walkway invites a tree-lined stroll highlighted by the personal train cars of Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and Theodore Roosevelt.
The 28,000 square-foot casino boasts 970 video and reel slot machines with 5-cent and 25-cent keno and 25 gaming tables. Craps pays 20x odds, blackjack has a $3 minimum bet, and two roulette tables have $1 minimum bets. Live keno is offered and Main Street Station encourages players to join the Player's Club to reap the benefits of point redemption for cash and/or comps.
Of special interest is the $4 million Victorian collection of antiques and artifacts from around the world including Buffalo Bill Cody's valued possessions. Main Street Station has won numerous awards including best downtown buffet and hotel.
