The Gold River changed its name to the River Palms in October, 1998. One unique feature about the River Palms is that you can stand by the railing on the upper level of the casino and watch guest playing cards, craps or the slot machines on the lower casino level.
River Palms hotel rooms are spacious and attractive, the pool area fairly private, well groomed. You'll also find a friendly hotel/casino staff willing to take care of your needs to make your visit and stay an enjoyable one. Late night food specials during our stay included a $0.99 breakfast. Room rates vary from $18.00 a night to $300 a night.
River Palms has 1,103 rooms and suites in a 25-story tower and a three story high south wing where we stayed. River Palms was rated the "Best Hotel in Laughlin" by Arizona Republic. Non-smoking rooms and gaming areas are available. Free RV and covered parking. You can work out in the River View health club, relax in the pool or spa.
Restaurants
The resort has seven restaurants including Madelleine's Gourmet Room with steaks, seafood and wines; River Palms Cafe open 24 hours a day; No Ka Oi Buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; D'Angelo's Italian Bistro suggests making reservations and Java Joe's has Nachos, Tacos and gourmet coffees.
Bars include: Pirate's Cove, located in the middle of the main casino floor with a pirate ship and animated characters on it who sing pirate songs hourly. Additional bars/lounges included the Shipwrecked, Bermuda Club and a bar just outside of the Bingo Lounge.
Entertainment is offered in "The Bermuda Club" and "Sandy Hackett's Comedy Club."
New games in the casino where "Bonus Blackjack," two full size crap games and one mini-craps game called "Crap Shoot."
River Palms has undergone a complete face-lift, both inside and out. The resort has a South Atlantic Tropical Island theme. Amenities include a high-tech video arcade, spa, River View Health Club, swedish massage, car wash, swimming pool, banquet and catering services, convention facilities, RV Park, valet parking, self parking in the garage, bell hop service, Paddlewheel boat tours, Waverunner rentals and three pool tables.
The 65,000 square-foot casino has over 1,100 slot machines with the latest games, craps tables, bingo, 24 gaming tables with Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Hi-Lo Split Stud, Let-it-Ride Stud, Omaha, Pai Gow Poker, roulette, Seven Card Stud, a Big Six table and the new "Hot Shot" twenty-five cent dice game machine.
Slot and video poker machines vary from nickels to $25.00. Jackpots start at: Nickels Deluxe $200,000, Quarters Deluxe $250,000, Wheel of Fortune $0.25 machines $200,000 and $1 Megabucks jackpots start at $5,000,000. Payments are made in 20 installments.
