The Barbary Coast opened March 2, 1979, with only 150 rooms and suites. The hotel has undergone three expansion programs, which added 50 rooms, increased the size of the casino, expanded service facilities.
The Barbary has earned the title of the "Stained Glass Capital of Las Vegas."
Intricately designed Tiffany-styled glass surrounds the customer. The "Garden of Earthly Delights" is a 30 foot by 5 foot stained glass mural on the casino's west wall, depicting a Victorian era fantasy. Installed in 1984, ten artists worked more than 10,000 hours to complete this stunning masterpiece. Created by Wallach Stained Glass Studio, in Berkeley, California, its the largest mural of its kind in the world.
Restaurants
Michael's - Acclaimed as the finest gourmet restaurant in Las Vegas, Michael's features a menu highlighting continental cuisines, soups, appetizers, salads, fresh vegetables and fine wines. House specialties include imported fresh Dover Sole, rack of lamb or Chateaubriand for two, Michael's scampi, and a long list of other entrees.
Victorian Room Round-the-clock dining and fast, friendly service make the Victorian Room one of the Barbary Coast's favored restaurants. Menu selections offer a wide variety of entrees with reasonable prices. Bargain priced Midnight Teasers have made the Victorian Room a favorite throughout Las Vegas. One of the 11:00 pm - 7:00 am specials is two eggs (cooked to order), bacon, hash browned potatoes, toast and jelly for just $1.95.
Gaming
The Barbary Coast offers a full complement of table games, Pai Gow Poker and more than 570 slot machines. Join the "Fun Club," Barbary Coast's slot club to accumulate bonus points for gifts and prizes. The casino has 32 gaming tables, 4 craps tables, keno and a sports book.
The Sports Book is the original home of the "Ties Win" parlay card. The Barbary Coast also created the first Las Vegas football contest with mass market appeal. The Race Book boasts a state-of-the-art computerized ticket system, along with many TV screens for unlimited visibility.
Accommodations
Guest rooms and suites are beautifully decorated to assure guests the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. Room service and cable TV are provided.
