The Boomtown Hotel-Casino is located around 5 miles west of Reno, NV at the Garson Road exit off the I-80 expressway, west of the Route 395 expressway. The western theme hotel-casino has over 120 hotel rooms, a separate trucker's complex with a 24-hour restaurant offering a buffet or full menu meal, a mini-mart, showers, full-service fuel islands, slot and video machines, video room with overstuffed lounge chairs and a giant screen TV lounge. The trucker's complex has CAT scales (for weighing loads properly over its axles), road permits and "ATM" machines.
Hotel room rates start at $59.95 weekdays. Available upon request are non-smoking rooms, handicapped rooms, closed captioned TVs, an Indoor swimming pool, cribs and rollaways. No Pets. Boomtown's 203-space paved/lit RV Park has pull-in's, full-hookup's, a swimming pool, two spas, private showers, coin operated laundromat, 24-hour security, cable TV, video rentals, message and mail center, a general store, Mini-Mart and free shuttle to the casino. The Boomtown Buffet offers nightly features seven days a week, the 24-hour Tumbleweed Cafe specializes in gourmet pizzas cooked in wood-fired brick ovens and full menu entries.
For fine dining, Waddies Steakhouse offers a wide variety of western-styled foods and an expanded menu which includes seafood, steaks, chops, chicken and pasta selections. Waddies decor includes rows of horseshoes and saddles, a large showcase of used boots, western paintings and a round-up mural. A wide selection of wines are available, mainly priced under $20 a bottle. For the hungry diner, 32 - ounce porterhouse steaks, 24 - oz. Maine lobster dinners. Menu's available for children under 12. The Silver Screen serves lunch and dinner buffets, seafood on Friday's and Saturday's and a champagne brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's. For family fun, the Family Fun Center has a 9-hole miniature golf course, 1908 antique musical carousel, Dynamic Motion Theatre (where the seats move to the action), indoor Ferris Wheel, over 250 video and arcade games, open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday thru Thursday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Casino action includes 1,355 slot and video machines, 38 gaming tables, keno and a Sports Book. Bonus prizes are offered every day of the week. Special promotions during our visit included: Hit a Royal Flush on Sunday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and win free gasoline.
