The Copa Casino is the first casino you'll come to if your traveling south on Hwy. 46 from the Gulfport/Biloxi Airport. Permanently docked in Gulfport, the Copa Casino opened on September 14, 1993. The 503-foot long cruise liner weights over 9,000 tons, has nine decks. Two of the decks are used for gaming and restaurants. Build in 1951, the luxury liner Rhyndam cruised the Atlantic. It was upgraded in 1973, and renamed Atlas, and sailed the Mediterranean. Renovated in 1988, she was christened The Pride of Mississippi and offered casino gaming cruises. Retired in 1993, the Copa Casino began dockside gaming in Mississippi.
Copa's 27,000 square-foot casino has a total of 30 gaming tables, 19 Blackjack, 1 Caribbean Stud, 2 Craps, 1 Let It Ride, 4 Poker, 2 Roulette and 1 Big Six Wheel with betting from $1.00 to $500.00. The casino has over 700 slot and video machine and keno, with denominations of 5-cents, 10-cents, 25-cents, 50-cents, $1.00, $5, $25 and $100, including million dollar progressive jackpots. Machines include MegaBucks, Elvis, Jeopardy, Slotopoly and the Wheel of Fortune.
The Cabana Cafe on the second deck of the ocean liner serves breakfast from midnight to 10:30 a.m. as well as quick foods 24-hours a day. The Atrium Buffet is open for lunch and dinner. The Copa has three cocktail bars, free valet parking, free self parking and free admission to the casino. The Copa does not have hotel rooms.
