The Isle of Capri is a 50,000 square-foot tropical resort on Highway 90 in Biloxi, MS. The 32,500 square foot casino has over 1,200 slot and video machines, 36 gaming tables on the first and second level of the casino. Table games include four craps tables, one Spanish 21 table, a Big Six Wheel, 32 tables with all of the popular games. Free daily slot tournaments are held from noon until 8:00 p.m. every two hours, with daily prizes of up to $600. A non-smoking room on the second level has 5-cent to $1.00 slots. A couple of the $1 slot machines guarantee's a payback of 97.3%. Twenty dollar buy-in Crapshoot tournaments are held Wednesday's from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with up to 72 players. Prizes range from $800 for first place to $100 for fifth place. Times, events, subject to change.
The 370 room 15-story Crowne Plaza Resort Hotel has over-sized guest rooms with one king or two queen size beds, hair dryers, wall safes, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, ceiling fans, 25" TV with on-command videos. Accommodations are in a vibrant Caribbean-style decor with views of the Gulf of Mexico or beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The casino area has a nice waterfall with palm trees. On the second level of the hotel near the escalator is an original five-cent Isle of Capri slot machine from the first Isle of Capri Casino that opened during the 1930's. Guest are greeted by 4 Dolphins as they approach the casino and the Caribbean Cove with five water jets as they enter the main entrance.
Dining options include the Calypso's Buffet where you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet of salads and side dishes, made to order pastas, omelets and crepes, beef, chicken, seafood, oysters and crab legs. The food was very enjoyable during our visit. Breakfast was served from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. daily, lunch 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and dinner from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 4:00 p.m. to midnight on Friday's and Saturday's. Subject to change. Farraday's is a fine dining restaurant with certified Angus steaks, prime rib, seafood, tropical beverages. TradeWinds Grill specializes in "Cheeseburger in Paradise" sandwiches, Po Boy sandwiches and New Orleans-style beignets.

Cruise rates vary by the season. The most expensive rates are during the peak season. Rates during May 1999 (peak season) were $189 to $549 for the two night cruise and $479 to $1029 for the five night cruise. Add $85 port taxes to these rates. The price difference reflects the room rate for economy rooms or suites. Off season rates are lower and the Isle of Capri offers special promotions with reduced rates.
