Located on Highway 93 near lake Mead you can't miss the Hacienda on the left side of the road as you come down the steep hill if heading south. The original casino, the Gold Strike, owned by Circus Circus Enterprises was totally destroyed by fire and replaced with a new building during the summer of 1999. The hotel, untouched by the fire remained open during construction.

The hotel has 375-rooms. The new casino 647 slot and video machines, nine blackjack tables with $1, $2 and $5 limits, 2 roulette tables with 25-cent and $1 minimums with a $5.00 buy-in and one craps table. The Hacienda has a small sportsbook, keno window and poker room. On the north corner of the casino is a large $1.00 "Strike The Gold" machine which requires three $1 tokens to win the $55,000 jackpot. If symbols 1, 2 and 3 line up on the payline you win $1,500. If symbols 1, 2 and 4 line up on the payline you win the $55,000. The casino has the Nevada Megabucks progressive game. Slot players are encouraged to join the "Club Matador."

The casino has a "5+ diner", "Gifts Ole'", "Tango Buffet" with lunch from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $4.99 and dinner from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $6.49. A weekend brunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. is offered for $5.99. Tuesday through Thursday is "Senior's Night" with 2 for 1 specials from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The lounge has 16 build-in video poker machines in the bar. The food court has a "Bandito's" snack bar, a "Dairy Queen" with delicious, reasonably priced selections and hot dogs. The "Taco Bell" sells "Pizza Hut" pizzas.

The second level of the casino has a bingo hall, banquet room and Cinema theater.

Current room rates: regular rooms $29.00 for single or double occupancy, weekends during winter/summer $49.00 to $54.00. Suites $39.00 week days, $59.00 to $64.00 on weekends. Additional people 12 and older $3.00. Rollaway beds and cribs if available $5.00. Rates for Jacuzzi suites, suites with a wet bar/refrigerator and honeymoon suites are available upon request. Rooms are subject to a 9% room tax. Rooms have one king size or two queen size beds, color television, phones and pay-per-view movies. Pets are not allowed. Reservations are held until 4 p.m. without a deposit. Checkout 11 a.m. Prices, times subject to change without notice. Rates vary during holidays, conventions.

The original Hacienda located on the south end of the Strip near the airport opened in 1952. It was destroyed on December 31, 1996 to make room for the Mandalay Bay. The property was owned by Circus Circus Enterprises which changed its name to Mandalay Bay. When the Hacienda opened it had it's own private fleet of aircraft to lure guest to the property and offered low stakes gambling. Guest entering the property were greeted by a waterfall instead of gaming devices which is normal in Las Vegas.
