At the main intersection by the Sunset Station in Henderson, Nevada is a nice clean smaller size casino called the Gold Rush with several promotions. During our visit you were entered into a drawing to win a 2000 Plymouth Neon LX just for hitting a 4-of-a-kind or better hand without wild cards on any video poker machine with maximum coins played or on any hand paid jackpot on keno or slot machines.The bad part is that you had to be present during the drawing to win the car and Digger Dan's Gold Rush Slot Club points expire after 120 days.
To redeem your points for cash you need to have at least $10 coming to you. Breakfast for one requires 1,500 points, dinner for one 3,000 points, dinner for two 6,000 points. A Gold Rush jacket with a logo requires 30,000 points. Gaming includes bingo, winning bid, party time, 3-5-10 times play poker and 1-cent and 5-cent video lottery terminals and a sportsbook.
Food specials included: breakfast special of 2 eggs, 2 pieces of meat, hash browns and toast for 99-cents, New York Steak and eggs for $1.99 24-hours a day, steak sandwiches $1.95, hot beef with potatoes $3.95, baby back ribs $5.99, steak and shrimp $8.50, salads for $4.99 and $5.95. Specials posted during our visit included a 10-ounce prime rib, 12-ounce New York Steak or 16-ounce porterhouse with salad, dinner rolls and choice of potatoes for $3.95. None of their meals will put you broke.
The owners have three casinos, the Gold Rush mentioned, Magic Star at 2000 South Boulder Highway near South Magic Way (702) 558-6454, and the Lift at 3045 S. Valley View Boulevard between Sirius Ave. and Familian Drive (702) 364-0306. Food prices are the same.
