Sunset Station opened for business on June 10, 1997, with 448 hotel rooms including 18 luxury king suites and 52 petite suites. Sunset's 80,000 square-foot casino has over 2,700 slot and video poker machines, 35 gaming tables, 5 craps tables, a Poker Room with 10-tables, keno, bingo and a Race and Sports book.
They have five specialty restaurants, a micro-brewery restaurant, seven quick-serve restaurants, a Kids Quest child-care facility, oyster bar, 300 seat entertainment lounge and a 12-screen cinema theatre with first run movies. Amenities include a video arcade, retail shopping, gift shop, Matador Cigar and live entertainment.
The swimming pool/recreation area is an entertainment complex of its own. Surrounding the centerpiece is a multi-purpose/barbecue building, stage with an Amphitheater for outdoor concerts and events, two beach sand volleyball courts, bocci and badminton.
Capri Ristorante Italiano serves Italian favorites with old country recipes from southern Italy. Costa Del Sol seafood and oysters. Feast Around The World buffet style meals. Rosalita's specializes in south-of-the-border traditional recipes. Sunset Cafe is open 24-hours.
In addition to its own restaurants Sunset features a Keyna's Cake of the Stars, Viva Salsa - snacks, Gladys Knight/Patti LaBelle-owned establishment, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Manhattan Bagel, Fatburger, Capi Pizza Kitchen, Gordon Biersch Brewery restaurant, Gantina Lounge, Sunset Cafe with a replica of an antique train and the Gordon Biersch Brewery.
Station Casinos' original Feast "action" buffet concept is taken to new heights with Feast Around the World, which is five buffets in one with a salad bar that vie's for the largest of its kind in the Las Vegas area.
Sunset Station is designed in a Spanish/Mediterranean theme and deflects the height of the art nouveau period of the early 20th century including creative work of Antoni Gaudi the world renowned Spanish architect. Sunset's Gaudi Bar is the centerpiece of the casino. It's designed in true Gaudi style with no right angles, only curves, even down to the shot glasses. The hotel, restaurants and all interior facades highlight the architecture of Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Segovia and Madrid.
