On display at Whiskey Pete's is the restored bullet-proof Dutch Schultz / Al Capone Gangster Car. The 1931 Classic Armored Lincoln was custom built for gangster Dutch Schultz. Known as "The Bronx Beer Barron," Schultz ran bootlegging, owned breweries, speakeasies and the policy rackets in the Bronx and parts of Manhattan, New York during the 1920s and 30s. Schultz earned an estimated $20 million per year during the Depression. He and his gang engaged in a number of bloody gang wars until Schultz's massacre in 1935.
Also on display is Bonnie and Clyde's "Death Car"and the bullet-riddled blood stained shirt Clyde Barrow was wearing when he was killed in a shoot-out with the FBI on May 23, 1934. Bonnie and Clyde robbed gas stations, restaurants and small-town banks in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Missouri.
The display is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, free admission.
Whiskey Pete use to operate a whiskey still in a cave across the road from his two-pump gas station, the site of Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino. Whiskey Pete wanted to be buried so he could be watching the road. Today he rests nearby watching the road and growth of the Primadonna Casino Resorts.
Whiskey Pete's offers non-stop gaming with over 1,300 slot machines, 28 gaming tables, 2 craps tables, keno and a full-service Race & Sports Book where you can bet on horse racing and other sporting events across the nation.
Dining options include the Silver Spur Steakhouse, Trail's End Coffee Shop for lunch and dinner and the Wagon Wheel buffet restaurant.
The 18-story hotel tower contains 777 rooms and suites with spacious deluxe accommodations at reasonable rates. Whiskey Pete's has a gift shop, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, waterslide and a Texaco service station with gasoline and diesel fuel.
Live entertainment is offered in the state-of-the art 700 seat Whiskey Pete's Showroom.
