Caesars Atlantic City

On June 26, 1998, Caesars Atlantic City celebrated the official opening of its new triumphal Porte Cochere, Roman-themed exterior facade, Rotunda restaurant, expanded casino floor, and Bacchus Bar to culminate three years of design and construction. The 120,231 square foot casino, which includes the main casino located on the first floor and the Hippodrome and the Palladium Slot Arena on the second floor, gives Caesars one of the largest contiguous gaming spaces in Atlantic City. Along with these additions, the $280 million expansion project also includes the new 620 guest-room Centurion Tower, the Palladium Ballroom, four meeting rooms, the new Cafe Roma restaurant, and the Temple Lobby. Amenities include: a private beach area on the Atlantic Ocean, outdoor pool, health spa, limousine service, concierge service desk, Circus Maximus Theater with 1,100 seats, 620-guestrooms.

Gateway to an Empire The exterior approach begins from the Atlantic City expressway where arriving visitors can see the Centurion Tower as a Roman Temple rising in the center of the Atlantic City skyline. As guests approach Missouri Avenue, the new Caesars unfolds directly in front of them, as the patron becomes part of the Caesars domain. Complete with royal statuary and lavish landscaping, all who arrive at Caesars know they have entered into an exquisite Empire.

The lush landscape surrounds the visitor as one moves through the sweeping cobbled entrance plaza, and then passes by the grandly lit Rotunda restaurant, which is encircled with flowering shrubs at the base. The stage is set by the torchieres along Pacific Avenue and the corner fountain featuring a statue of Caesar riding in a four-horse chariot. The new 80-foot high classical Colonnade adorned with 15-foot high statues of Praetorian guards and Senators hovers at the new Pacific Avenue entrance to complete the breathtaking scenery.

Patrons traveling down Pacific Avenue or walking across the bridge from the Transportation Center will notice the heroic scale of the new Temple facade, which appears to hold up the end of the existing bridge and acts as an entrance way into the Temple Lobby.

The stately Pacific Avenue facade showcases windows framed on a grand scale with a procession of towering arches on a heavily rusticated base. Each windowed archway is framed by a pair of Corinthian columns and joined by a balcony. The soft tones of ochre, cream, and white pull the entire complex together.

Porte Cochere

Positioned on the corner of Missouri and Pacific Avenues, the magnificent Porte Cochere welcomes guest into the empire with its granite clad entrance arch, officious windowed facade and balcony with decorative urns. The Porte Cochere captivates the attention of each on-looker with its luminous decorative vaulted ceiling, Venetian yellow granite clad walls, custom alabaster and gilded stones.

At the Porte Cochere, guests can immediately begin enjoying their royal visit to Caesars by taking advantage of the friendly, convenient valet service. Visitors can enter the Porte Cochere from Missouri Avenue and leave their vehicles at the large paved drop off area. They will then enter the elegant vestibule highlighted with tones of gold and silver. At the conclusion of their trip to the Empire, customers will exit onto Arkansas Avenue.

Expanded Casino Floor With 39,998 sq.-ft. of casino space added on May 22, 1998, the main casino floor of Caesars features 107,170 square feet of spectacular and easily accessible ground floor gaming. Combined with the second floor casino, Caesars Atlantic City offers a total of 120,231 square feet of casino floor space, making it one of the largest contiguous gaming areas in Atlantic City.

The main floor expansion included 1,088 slot machines, bringing the total number of slots, available in denominations ranging from $0.10 to $500, to 3,595 machines. The expansion also marks the Atlantic City debut of several types of slot machines as well as additional slant top and upright poker slot machines, and many new video multi-coin slot machines in various manufacturer and model types.

The new slot machines provide links to the following progressive game systems: 25-Elvis Slot Machines, 25-cent and $1 Wheel of Fortune, and 25-cent and $1 Jeopardy. An additional highlight of the newly expanded casino is the car carousel, which consists of eighteen $0.50 red-white-and-blue slot machines. The expansion provides cashier services, coin and coupon redemption, currency exchange and other special amenities.

The 133 table gaming area offers a variety of popular games --Blackjack (74 tables), Dice (12), Roulette (13), Baccarat (3), Mini-Baccarat (4), Pai Gow Poker (4), Pai Gow Tiles (1), Big 6 Wheel (2), Sic Bo (2), Caribbean Stud Poker (4), Let It Ride (8) and Poker 6 tables.

Baccarat Pit Caesars exclusive Baccarat Pit reflects the glory of the great Roman Empire. Custom made quarry cast panels cover the walls of this opulent area. Across the Italian marble floor, which was made especially for Caesars, is an elegant marble stairway leading to the reserved Baccarat Pit. The hand-laid, mosaic of Caesars custom logo depicting the head of Julius Caesar is another elegant touch. Playing amidst the hand painted Roman murals and luxurious surroundings adds a special ambiance that makes Caesars Baccarat pit one of Atlantic City's most prestigious gaming rooms.

Olympic Slot Arena The Olympic Slot Arena is elevated to ensure the most exclusive and luxurious premium slot area in Atlantic City. Designed so the service is as impressive as the atmosphere, the Olympic Slot Arena permits guests to enjoy special amenities and personalized attention while playing their favorite slots and video poker games. Adjoining this premium slot area is a lounge for Caesars players to savor the splendor of the plush Baccarat Pit and Caesars legendary hospitality.

Smoke Free Casino - First Floor The smoke-free casino on the first floor was completed in July 1995, allowing approximately 12,000 square feet to showcase a total of 442 new slot machines. Included in this area are nine different link progressive machines in three different denominations -- quarter, fifty-cent and dollar. The Smoke-free Casino also gives slot players an opportunity for links to additional progressive system games: Quarters Deluxe, Quartermania, and $1 Jeopardy.

The Smoke-free Casino also provides cashier services, coin and coupon redemption, currency exchange and other special amenities. The Emperors Club has its main booth located inside the smoke-free area. Multi-game slot machines, the Video Interactive Play machines, allow guests to play any one of 10 games at the same machine. Available on these machines are: 3 different Poker games, 5 Video slot games, 1 Keno game and 1 Blackjack game. Every machine in the new smoke-free casino offers guests QuikChange (c) and Emperors Club card readers. Of course, the area also provides the same host services you receive on the main casino floor. The total slot machines available in non-smoking areas, including the main floor and the smoke-free Palladium Slot Arena, located on the second floor of the Centurion Tower, is 554 or 15.4 percent of the total number of slot machines.

Palladium Slot Arena Located on the second floor of the Centurion Tower is the Palladium Slot Arena, Caesars' second smoke-free casino space. The 3,370 square foot Palladium Slot Arena, which opened on May 7, 1998, contains a total of 112 slot machines, available in quarter, 50-cent and $1 denominations, including a variety of manufacturers and models such as multi-poker, reel, and Wheel of Fortune.

Hippodrome A ramp leading from the Temple Lobby leads guests to the Appian Way shopping and Hippodrome gaming areas. The 9,691 square foot Hippodrome contains simulcast along with poker and Let It Ride table games. The Hippodrome also features Keno gaming, with games played approximately every five minutes with a maximum aggregated pay out of $250,000 each game. Open to the corridor, the Hippodrome is identified by a series of Ionic columns and engraved entablatures.
