Gold Coast

The Gold Coast has 750-hotel rooms and a casino decorated in Spanish decor. The property opened in December 1986.

Visitors and residents alike were quick to make the Gold Coast their home-away-from-home because of the excitement, entertainment and fabulous dining. With success came an almost immediate need for expansion. In 1988, the size of the complex was doubled. The annex included another full-service casino, shops, restaurants and a 72-lane family bowling center, which occupies the entire second floor. The popularity of the Gold Coast quickly necessitated the addition of more rooms. In July, 1990, a 450-room tower, adjacent to the existing hotel structure, was opened.

A child care facility was added in this phase of expansion to increase the number of amenities offered to Gold Coast customers. Staffed by licensed, trained personnel, the Child Care Center provides this complimentary service to potty trained children over two years of age for customers who remain on the premises. Surrounded by acres of free parking and two easy access parking garages, the Gold Coast has a free shuttle bus which goes back and forth to the Strip. For convenience of their customers, the Gold Coast also houses an American Express office and a complete travel service, Cole Travel.

A free-style swimming pool is a delightful refuge for all sun-worshippers. On the west side of the property, the pool is surrounded by beautiful landscaping, waterfalls, a spa and tropical bar. The swimming pool at the Gold Coast is a favorite attraction of out-of-town visitors.

A full complement of innovative slots and Nevada-style games fill two casino areas; two comfortable movie theaters showing first-run films; seven distinctive restaurants and food outlets; five full-service bar areas; an action-packed Race & Sports Book; 700 seat Bingo Parlor; video arcade for the kids, and one of the largest bowling centers in Las Vegas make the Gold Coast one of Las Vegas' favorite entertainment destinations.

A perfect setting for parties, meetings and conventions, the 10,000 square-foot ballroom on the second floor can accommodate up to 600 persons in comfortable, attractive surroundings. Food and beverage menus can be prepared by their catering staff to suit any occasion.

Shoppers will find unique items from exotic glassware to souvenir tee shirts in the 24-hour a day gift shop.

Two spacious lounges offer a variety of musical sounds from country/western, contemporary, rock or jazz from today's top performers. There is no minimum or cover charge in either lounge. If you like to dance, grab your partner and head for the Gold Coast Dance Hall. Western. Rock & Roll and Big Band sounds rotate throughout the year to provide a wide variety of music. The 15-member Gold Coast Orchestra is one of the finest in Las Vegas.

The full-service casino features Blackjack ("21"); Craps; Roulette; Baccarat; Pai Gow Poker; Texas Hold'em and 7-Card Stud; Keno; and more than 2,000 slot, video poker and video keno machines.

The Gold Coast is the only casino in Las Vegas with a "million dollar" keno game. Some Keno extras are Progressive Keno, up to $250,000; Exacta and multi-race games are also offered. Bonanza Bingo, played 7 times a day, offers players a chance to win a progressive jackpot on a dollar investment, 38 spots. Special bingo buses pick up local customers at over 75 locations.
