The Carson Valley Inn features 154 hotel rooms, a 76 room Motor Lodge, 60 RV sites, 24-hour casino, four lounges, 3 restaurants, nightly Cabaret entertainment, wedding chapel and convention center. The Inn is about twenty minutes from Lake Tahoe's south shore, 45 minutes south of Reno on Highway 395 in North Minden, Nevada.
Kathie's 24-hour full service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fiona's, closed Monday's, serves Sunday Brunch and dinners. Michael's is open nightly except on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. offering USDA choice steaks and prime rib.
Carson Valley has 440 slot machines, eleven gaming tables, one craps table, a sports book, gift shop and ample RV parking. The CVI is a very popular place with locals and visitors alike because they know how to treat guests. You'll always find some sort of promotion going on or special event to keep things interesting.
IGT's Totem Pole slots allows players to play three two-coin games at the same time with a state-wide progressive Mega Jackpot starting at $1 million. The Reel Deal video machines feature a special video window with a "reel" type slot. Any video poker hand of three of a kind or more gives the player a free reel spin and a chance to increase winnings up to ten times. More $5 games have been added as well as nickel and quarter Bally Gamemaker videos, IGT Game King multi-game videos and the new video IGT "I" Games featuring interactive excitement.
Two new Royal Match Blackjack tables offer something new for blackjack players. In addition to playing your normal single-deck blackjack game you get a chance to win some money on every hand by placing a side bet. Your side bet pays 10 to 1 if your first two cards are a king and queen of the same suit, 3 to 1 if your first two cards are any other two of the same suit.
Restaurant's include Michael's, Kathie's and Fiona's for fine dining -- located in a separate building in front of the parking lot. For relaxing PJ's Pub. Room rates were $50 to $160 a night during our visit.
Entertainment: Besides special functions, Nightly entertainment is presented in the Cabaret Lounge with no cover charge or minimum. Live bands entertain guest Tuesday through Sunday. DJ music on Monday nights. They have four large monitors for sporting events.
Monthly Events
Last Tuesday of the month, Monthly Blackjack Tourney, $25 entry fee, $1,500 in cash prizes, play with special tournament chips. Thursday night Video tournaments, $10 buy-in, $200 first prize,$125 second prize, $75 third prize, $60 fourth prize and $40 for fifth. Sign ups start at 5 p.m. on Thursdays. First Monday of the month, Meet the Winemaker. A delightful five or six course gourmet dinner served with wines from the featured winery of the month in Fiona's at the Carson Valley Inn. Events subject to change.
Golf Packages
Carson Valley Inn specializes in golf packages for groups of 8 to 200. Golf can be played on one or more of nine area courses. Packages for 8 to 18 people include a private dinner in one of the Michael's Restaurant private dining rooms. Packages for 20 or more include an opening night cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, a final night awards banquet. Wedding Packages
The Inn's wedding coordinators help with all the details starting with the beautifully decorated Chapel, where one of the Inn's Wedding Hostesses will guide everyone through the ceremony. There's also reception space for up to 300 and rooms for your out-of-town guests - all under one roof. Add flowers, photography, video taping, luxurious spa suite for the newlyweds, three restaurants, and you have all it takes for an all-inclusive wedding experience.
The Rendezvous Package is perfect for a simple, elegant small wedding for $165.00. Price includes the use of the Chapel at the Inn and minister's services, long-stemmed single rose bouquet and boutonniere, champagne, two Carson Valley Inn champagne glasses and a wedding cake for two.
The Champagne Memories Package is just right for a small wedding party. The $365.00 fee includes use of the Chapel at the Inn, minister's fee, a cascading bouquet for the bride and nosegay for the maid of honor, boutonnieres for the groom and best man, champagne and four Carson Valley Inn champagne glasses, a wedding cake for four and a video of your special day.
The Mid-Week Wedding Package offers a complete wedding day experience for the bride and groom, $349.00, includes the ceremony and minister's services, mixed flower bouquet and boutonniere, dinner certificates, one night in one of the Inn's spa suites with champagne in the room and breakfast certificates for the following morning.
