Aladdin Hotel & Casino

When the new $1.3 billion Aladdin Hotel & Casino opens August 17, 2000, the Aladdin themed resort will have 2,600 hotels rooms, some facing the Bellagio, some with a view of the Paris. Room reservations will not be accepted until some time in May. Speculation is that the deluxe rooms will cost between $100-$138. The Aladdin retained the recently renovated Performing Arts Center, added a new entertainment center and a new $240 million upscale retail complex called Desert Passage. The Aladdin will have 160,000-square-feet of casino space, 450,000-square-feet of shopping space. The original Aladdin was imploded April 27, 1998.

The new Aladdin will have 130 shops in the Desert Passage, the largest retail, dining and entertainment center on the Strip, 21 world-class restaurants, a 7,000-seat Theater of the Performing Arts for concerts and theatrical productions, 115,000-square-foot main casino and a 35,000-square-foot London Club with Las Vegas' only European-style gaming. The hotel will have 2,600 oversized guest rooms ranging in size from 450-square-feet to over 1250-square-feet, two outdoor pools, a pool deck six stories above Las Vegas Boulevard with views of the Strip, 75,000 square-feet of flexible meeting space and a showroom.

Phase two of the 35-acre project will include The Aladdin Music Project, separate 1,000-room hotel and 50,000-square-foot casino. Some of the rooms and restaurants will have views of the Bellagio and Paris Eiffel Tower. Meeting and conference facilities will be located on a floor separate from the casino with convenient direct access from the lobby or guest floors. The Aladdin will have a 37,000-square-foot grand ballroom, flexible seating at the Theater of the Performing Arts for 2,500 to 7,000, and two junior ballrooms. For business travelers a registration area, 24-hour business center, catering kitchen and beverage service. Special business traveler amenities in each guest room will include dedicated modem ports with Cat-5 computer cable for high-speed internet access, two phone lines, desktop electrical outlets and reading lamps.

The Aladdin was designed to give guests easy access to the various areas of the complex without having to pass through the casino. Two separate guest elevator banks are located on the lobby level, one floor below the main casino level. All guest rooms are within seven doors of an elevator for convenient access. Aladdin's 1,878 standard guest rooms, 466 parlor rooms and 223 suites will feature luxurious marble bathrooms with separate soaking tubs, separate showers and private water closets. Rooms will have two phone lines, high-speed Internet access and desktop reading lamps.

Amenities include a full-service 15,000-square-foot health spa and salon, fitness center offering personalized health and fitness counseling and two outdoor swimming pools six stories above Las Vegas Boulevard. Sinbad's Palace, a higher-stakes two-story gaming area is located within the casino featuring live entertainment visible from the various levels and overlooks throughout the property. Guest will be able to view the entire casino from the upper levels including the 2,800 slot and video machines, 87 gaming tables, keno area and Race & Sports book.

Aladdin's London Club is a luxurious, European-style casino within a casino created by London Clubs International which is located in a separate area of the main casino. The Club has 30 high-limit gaming tables with baccarat, roulette, black jack, 100 high denomination slot machines. The Club has a private lobby, dedicated elevator service and 120-seat five-star restaurant with a multi-ethnic menu and alfresco dining. The Club also has a multi-functional lounge and private reception room.

The design for the Aladdin was inspired by the legendary 1,001 Arabian Nights. The resort has the world's largest indoor light board which creates a 140-foot Garden Wall, and a constantly changing display of vibrant blooming flowers. Above the casino floor is a 36-foot magic lamp, the talon and nest of a giant Roc bird taken from the tales of Sinbad the Sailor, giant winged horses from the Tale of the Ebony Horse marking, appropriately, the entrance to the Aladdin Race & Sports Book.

Aladdin's 21 restaurants including: Commander's Palace, the New Orleans-based winner of the James Beard Best Restaurant in America Award, four diamond-rated Anasazi of Santa Fe, Blue Note Jazz Club of New York, Bice, an authentic world-renowned Italian restaurant, Macanudo Steakhouse & Club, a fine American steakhouse catering to cigar enthusiasts while remaining air-friendly to non-smokers, Lombardi's, a signature restaurant marking entrepreneur Alberto Lombardi's triumphant return to the Strip and Beluga, featuring a collection of the world's finest caviar.
