The Venetian has to be one of the most unique mega-resorts on the Strip. Mirrored after Venice, Italy the architects who designed the resort made every effort humanly possible to re-create exact replicas of the originals found in Venice. From the sign high above the bell tower, to the gondolas in the lake, the arched bridges, stoned walkways, and statues surrounding the resort, you know right away that your in for an experience you'll never forget as you enter the replica of the most romantic city of love.

Venetian's "Destination Within A Destination," was named one of the "Best U.S. Hotels for Business Travelers"in American Airlines "American Way" in-flight magazine. As one of the world's 10 greatest hotels in the UK's "The Mail on Sunday" newspaper, and in the class of the "Hotel Coronado" in San Diego, "Carlton Hotel" in Cannes, and the "Hotel Cipriani" in Venice. The $2 billion all-suite Venetian has 3,036 hotel suites, 120,000-sq. ft. of gaming space, 500,000-sq. ft. of retail space, a 65,000-sq-ft. Canyon Ranch SpaClub, 500,000-sq. ft. of meeting space and a direct link to the 1.2 million square-foot Sands Expo and Convention Center all under one roof, the most complete resort on the Strip, on the former site of the legendary Sands Hotel and Casino.

Venetian's standard guest rooms are all-suite rooms with 700-square-feet of living space with marbled foyers, canopy-draped bedchambers, 130-square-foot bathrooms with Italian marble, make-up mirrors, hair dryers and telephones. Living accommodation include sunken living rooms, 27" color televisions, in-room safes, mini bars, fax machines, three dual-line telephone lines, sofas, queen size beds, two upholstered chairs, a coffee table, writing desk and game tables.

Amenities include the 63,000-square-foot Canyon Ranch SpaClub, five swimming pools open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekends, cabana's, golf concierge's, photographic services and wedding chapels. Venetian's 120,000-sq.- ft. gaming facility includes 2,500 slot and video machines, 122 gaming tables with traditional games, a sportsbook, keno lounge, single zero roulette, a high limit salon with baccarat and 12 gaming tables.

Entertainment includes gondola rides in St. Mark's Square in the Grand Canal Shopping area, $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children starting at 10:00 a.m. Entertainment in the 1,400-seat C2K theatre with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, six private skyboxes, a cigar bar on the mezzanine level, production studio allowing for live satellite concerts and production shows, and live nightly entertainment by singing impressionist Andre-Philippe Gagnon who has appeared before sold-out crowds in Australia, Canada, Europe and the United States.

The Theaters of Sensation offers hi-tech, high-paced motion adventure rides using 3-D movie imaging that will leave you breathless as you watch the super wide screen. Five different 3-d Motion Adventure are presented in two theaters in the Grand Canal Shoppes Food Court. (1) Escape from Venice takes you on a ride of a mad inventor/scientist who whisks you off to old Venice and inside the Giant Pyramid of the gods of Egypt and their most precious secrets. (2) Doomed Castle is a voyage into the Merlin the Enchanter era of King Arthur's Lost World of the Doomed Castle. (3) Escape from Nemo is Jules Verne's story inside a time machine. (4) Blue Magic, an underwater magic film shot in the waters of the Bahamas. (5) Red Hot Planet takes you on a trip to Mars invaded by alien creatures.

Madame Tussaud's Celebrity Museum showcases over 100 wax figurines of famous celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment. The lifelike figures are displayed on the second level of the St. Mark's Library. Set up in five themed areas, "The Big Night," displays Brad Pitt, Jerry Springer, Oprah Winfrey and others. The "Sports Arena," has Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfields, Joe Montana, Babe Ruth and other sports figures. "Madame Tussaud's Story," explains the process and artistry in creating the wax portraits. "Rock and Pop," features the portraits of the greatest movie stars with special sound and video effects of stars like Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner and James Brown. Las Vegas legends include Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Marilyn Monroe. The "Final" is a state of the art multi media tribute to Las Vegas with historic footage. Adults $12.50, seniors and Nevada residents $10.75, children 4 to 12 $10.00, under 3 free of charge. Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
